Elvira Christine Hurt passed away early Friday morning, April 13, 2012 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care in Yerington, Nevada. She was 86.

Christine was born in Gerlach, Nevada on August 24, 1925 the daughter of Ben and Jewel (Finley) Johnson. She married Glenn Hurt in 1950.

They lived at Weeks, while Glenn worked at the Anaconda Mine in Yerington. She lived her whole life in rural Nevada, moving to Mason Valley in 1962 where she remained for the rest of her life. She was a stay at home Mom, she enjoyed camping, gardening and all activities that allowed her to be outdoors.

Christine is survived by her brother, George Parman; her daughter, Glenda (Frank) Homan; her son Gregory (Dane McFall-Saunders) Hurt; her grandchildren, Lori Homan, Dustin Homan, Shea Hurt, Joshua Hurt, Kristy Oros, Nikki Tibbals; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn.

In keeping with her wishes no services will be held, the family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
