James O. Goldsmith, Jr. passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the St Mary's Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. He was 81.

James was born May 16, 1930 in Osawatomie, Kansas the son of James and Dorothy (Van Horn) Goldsmith.

He married Nancy K. Asper in Van Nuys, California on April 26, 1981.

James has lived in Yerington since 1996 coming from southern California. He worked has a roofer for many years. James enjoyed square dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children James L. Goldsmith and Robert E. Goldsmith; his step-children, Carl Hancock, Julie Cordova, Laurie Hancock and Patty Haigh; his sister, Shirley McQuay; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard and sister, Dottie.

James's graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Valley View Cemetery. A lunch will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church at the corner of West & Van Ness street, Yerington.
