Adam Orin Carrera-Ta boo'oo (cotton-tail) a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe-Nevada (Agai Dicutta Numu) was born in May 20, 1986 at Washoe Medical Center-Reno, Nevada. Adam was called home by the Creator on June 14, 2008 to go on the numu road on the milky way in the sky. Adam is survived by Oe'yoopana numu'dooe; Orin (na'ah) and Priscilla (bia) Carrera of Schurz, Nevada. Adam's sisters (ha'mah'ahs) are Winter, Angela and Virginia. Nephew (hooza)) Prescott Jones. Paternal aunts (pahwas) Caroline Merrill, Belinda Carrera and Lauretta Reymers. Maternal aunt (pedoo'oo) Shirley Wheeler. Maternal uncle (aapse) Jim Nez; Paternal uncle (hi'e) David D. Carrera. Paternal Grandmother Deora McCann (hootse'e). Great Uncle Joe McCann and Great Aunt Genevieve McCann & Edith McCann. Adam is survived by deceased relatives (numu'dooe) Maternal Gr-Grandmother (hoove'e) Mary Josephus Willie Phoenix and Paternal (hoove'e) Gr-Grandfather James X. Willie. Maternal grandmother (moo'ah) Pauline Willie Nez and (togo'o) Ford Nez. Paternal grandfather (gunoo'oo) Orin Carrera. Gr-Grandmother (hoove'e) Mamie McCann and Gr-Grandfather (hoove'e) Ed McCann. Adam was a young man whom had a vibrant spirit, was incredibly humble, most serious about his academic and career endeavors. Adam graduated from the Yerington High School in year 2005. While in high school he had exemplary technical awards for perfect attendance, was a band member and played the trumpet, was Future Board of Librarians Board Secretary, elected student body officer, Accounting I outstanding student, member of the Olympic Academic Team, Year Book staff member, a recipient of the Nevada State Millennium Scholarship and was a member of the National Geographic Society in year 2001 and has a Certificate of Participation to promote geography education and, also received Walker River Paiute Tribe education scholarships. In higher education Adam attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. His goals included knowledge of business accounting, software and hardware computer development and wanted to do a double major in criminology & Political science environmental policy. During his 2 year tenure at Ft. Lewis College and 4 years of high school Adam learned to be a 100% team player, take pride in his accomplishments, respect to people and set a goal and achieve it, and be happy. In Colorado Adam enjoyed mountain biking, camping and loving the great outdoors. Adam worked at the Basin Co-op Farm Store while attending school. Adam knew about agriculture farming and operated farm equipment with his dad during haying season. Adam assisted the tribe with compiling farm operation statistics with tribe staff for the 2007 fallowing season experienced by the farmers and cared deeply for his family and friends. He made people feel content by his positive mind-set and he never hesitated to help a stranger if they asked him. Adam enjoyed listening to his music on his ipod, reading and being on his computer. The creator gave us a gift of life on loan and now Adam is asked to return to his creator.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, June 21, at the Walker River Tribal Gym in Schurz. Burial will be at Schurz Cemetery
