Adlai 'Ad' F. Betterton passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2011 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Long Term Care in Yerington, Nevada. Ad was 90.

Adlai was born in Van Buren, Arkansas on October 1, 1920 the son Adlai C. and Ethel (Scott) Betterton. Adlai graduated from Mesa Union High School. He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army. He married Gladys Creswell in Wickenburg, Arizona on November 17, 1940.

He had lived the past 6 years in Nevada coming from Oceanside, California. He loved playing golf.

Ad is survived by his daughters, Susan and her husband Dennis Jay of Denver, Colorado and Judy and her husband Dick Tijsseling of Yerington, Nevada; his grandchildren, Caryn Tijsseling of Reno, Nevada, Jason Tijsseling of Las Vegas, Nevada, Casey Moore, Kelly Moore and Jason Moore all of Denver, Colorado; his 5 great grandchildren, Taylor, Chloe, Emily, Brianna and Chris; his brother, Jack and his wife Pollie of Mesa, Arizona.

In keeping with his wishes no service will be held.
