Allen Patrick Farias died on Thursday evening, April 16, 2009 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was 65.

He was was born in Yerington, Nevada on March 16, 1944 the son of Joseph and Flora (Slobig) Farias. He had graduated from Yerington High School, he then attended Art School in San Francisco for two years. He then went to serve his country in the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge he attended University of Nevada, Reno where he majored in the Art program. He has lived the past years in Fish Springs area.

He is survived by his brothers, Vernon Farias and Tom and his wife Penny Farias; his sisters, Karen and her husband Ken Jones and Wendy Rigney; by his nieces and nephews, Vikki Robinson, Ken Farias, Mark Farias-Jones, Kent Jones, Greg Jones, Leah Santibanez, Laura LeCave, J.D. Farias, Chantel Welch and Joy Rigney; also several great nieces and nephews, cousins and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Belva.

A Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Holy Family Catholic Church 37 North West Street Yerington. Inurnment will be in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery. A reception gathering will be held following the service at the Catholic Center.
