Anita Cardelli Barker passed away in Yerington, Nevada at South Lyon Medical Center on April 15, 2010 at the age of 99 years.

Anita was born on August 26, 1910 the daughter of Tancredi and Eugenia Cardelli a pioneer family, on the Cardelli Ranch in Dayton Valley. She attedend schools in Sutro,Virginia City, and Dayton, NV., and graduated from Reno High School in 1928. After graduation she moved to San Francisco, California where she met her husband Leon, and they managed the Oakland Hotel. She returned to Lake Tahoe as a realtor, then moved to Reno and became a long time employee of CB & I Christiansen Concrete. Anita moved to Yerington in 2007 to be closer to family.

Anita's main hobbies were golf and bridge(which she played up to one month before her death). She was a member of Reno Daughters of the Nile, over 50 years as a member of Eastern Star of Reno, 20th Century Club of Reno, longtime volunteer with Nevada Ballet, and numerous other civic organizations.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leon Barker, son Bill Barker, 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by Grand-daughter, Carolyn Cruzon of Montana: nephews, Bert Perondi of Dayton, NV., Wm. J. Raggio of Reno, NV., Howard Nielsen of Sacramento, CA., Clyde Jurey of Wellington, NV., Dario Quiriconi of Reno, NV., and Oliver Perondi of Carson City, NV.: neices, Bobbie Bloom of California, Dyann Koch of Oklahoma, and Lyla Mills of Carson City, NV.

Anita's request was that there be no memorial service held. Her cremains will be placed at Mountain View Cemetery.
