Obituary
Arena Frances Lewis passed away on Friday afternoon, November 26, 2010 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Long Term Care in Yerington, Nevada. She was 93.
Arena was born in Bodie, California on October 7, 1917 the daughter of Lester and Louise (Barker) Bell. She grew up in Bodie and in Bridgeport and Lee Vining, California. She met Warren E. Lewis and they were married in Reno, Nevada on April 15, 1939.
Arena and Warren spent many years on the East Walker Ranches where they worked and raised their family. Those years were centered around her family. She was a loving Mother and Wife. She spent hours cooking huge wonderful meals for her family, ranch workers and friends. Anyone who came to the door around meal time was welcomed with open arms and a seat at the table. She never met a stranger. In 1963 she and her husband moved to Yerington and she continued being the center of the family and also enjoying her grandchildren. She loved playing Bridge with her friends and also loved her animals and pets. She spent her golden years at home where she was most comfortable.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Les and Bob Bell and sister, Olive Alpers and a grandson, Monty Fedrickson. She is survived by her daughters, Annett Crow of Yerington, NV and Arlene Fredrickson of Craig, CO; her son, Walter Lewis of Yerington; her grandchildren, Lewis Fredrickson, Yvonne Fredrickson, Sarah Fredrickson, Anton Fredrickson, Arlis Fredrickson, Dorina Fredrickson, Nanette (Craig) Chisum, Susie (Ryan) Elliott, Scott (Timna) Lewis; and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Arena's funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 6th, 2010 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. Burial will be at the family plot in Valley View Cemetery.
