Arlo Otis McDaniel passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Carson Tahoe Medical Center in Carson City. He was 73.
Arlo was born in Durango, Colorado on January 21, 1935 the son of Otis and Mildred (Zufelt) McDaniel. Arlo was an accomplished musician, beginning his career as a teenage, highlighted with a gig at the Grand Ole Opry and two number one hit singles. In the latter part of his life he began a new career as an author, writing six books. He also enjoyed riding horses and good conversation over coffee.
Arlo is survived by his daughter, Misty and her husband Delmar Stevens and their sons, Dominick Ratto and Kutoven Stevens of Yerington; his son Kyle Hamphire and his wife Kathy of Carson City and his daughter, Terri King of Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jeannie of 40 years who passed away two years ago. He missed her greatly.
In keeping with his wishes no memorial service will be held. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington (775) 463-2911.
