Arthur Jack Long, Jr. passed away at his home in Yerington, Nevada on Friday morning, February 25, 2011 after a brief illness. He was 76.
Jack was born in Grass Valley, California on November 26, 1934 the son of Arthur and Edna Long.
Jack married Patricia Webb on February 8, 1968 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Jack lived many years in Bishop, California working at Union Carbide where he established many lifelong friendships. He returned to Grass Valley, CA for 16 years then relocated to Yerington, Nevada 2 1/2 years ago to rekindle old friendships with his 'Bishop Buddies'.
Jack was an avid bowler, throwing a mean left hook and racking up countless 200 games. He loved to play Keno and was well known at Boomtown and Dini's. He loved watching sports on his big screen TV and never missed a big game of any kind. He will be remembered for his 'hearty" laugh.
Jack is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patti Long; his step-children, Kelli and husband Doug Brown, Staci and husband Dino Simmons, Ed and his wife Andrea McNamara; his 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
