Averil May Hughes passed away at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. She was 97.

Averil was born March 19, 1916 in Hull, England the daughter of Herbert and Betsy (Blood) Parker.

She had married Cloyd Hughes and he passed away November 26, 1976.

Averil and her husband owned and operated Dry Cleaning Business. She was also very good at handcrafts and enjoyed the hobby until her eye sight went bad.

She is survived by her her son, Dennis Hughes; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Hughes, who was married to the late Ronald Hughes; her grandson, Barry Lozier; her granddaughters, Cheryl Hughes Davis, Linda Hughes Gentry and Averal "Betty" Hughes; two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cloyd, her sons, Michael and Ronald and a daughter Barbara Hughes Lozier.

A visitation/service will be held for Averil on Thursday, September 5th at 3:00 pm at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Hwy 208 Yerington, Nevada. Her burial will be at the Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson City, California.
