Beatrice 'Bea' Quintero Guzman passed away at her home in Schurz, on Monday morning, February 16th, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77.

Bea was born in Schurz on May 20, 1931 the daughter of Patricio and Jennie (Quartz) Quintero. She had attended school in Schurz and at Stewart Indain School. She was a member of the Walker River Baptist Church and was a W. R. Paiute Tribe member. Bea worked as a Community Health Rep for the ITCN.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Guzman; her children, Gerald Garza of Reno, Victor Guzman and Delfino Guzman both of Schurz, Ellen Root of Sacramento and Victoria Guzman of Schurz; her brothers Pancho and Douglas of Schurz; her grandchildren, Angelyn Root and April Rodriguez both of CA, Michael & Anthony Root of WA, Blue, J.J. & Echo Garza all of Reno, Amber Torres, Ariel & Haley Richardson and Aleczander Guzman all of Schurz; great grandchildren, Annalisa, Marissa, Elijah, Amelia & Catrina all of CA, Kylie, Elizabella & Bryon Torres all of Schurz; a great great grandson, Joseph Haskins of CA; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and her beloved dog, Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Whitney and Roland and sister Patricia Brown.

A visitation will be held 6 - 8pm Friday, February 20th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, Feb 21 at the Schurz Tribal Gym with burial at the Schurz Cemetery.
