Bonnie Belle Mackey went to meet Jesus on his birthday, Christmas-day; December 25, 2008. She was 88.
Belle was born in Fremont, Nebraska, April 21, 1920 the daughter of Allen and Cecile Wilson. She moved with her Mother in 1933 to Idaho. She married George Mackey and they had lived in California, Oregon and then in Wellington, Nevada and finally to Yerington. She was a rancher which she loved and continued to do in her later years. Belle and her husband also ran the Quick Service Laundry from 1952 - 1957.
Belle joined the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter 16 in 1953. She held many offices and was the Worthy Matron. She was Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls of Yerington in 1956. Belle went to school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse 1965 and graduated in 1966 at which time she also completed high school. She worked for Lyon Health Center until 1987 when she retired, she did return to work for two additional years. Belle was a member of the LPN Association and held the office of Vice President and President of the state division. She was a member of AARP and volunteered for ALIVE, she helped at the 'Greenhouse' for 16 years. Belle was also a member of Rpen.
Belle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, a granddaughter, Jenna Miranda, a son, Craig and son-in-law, Ben Mominee and a grandson, Russell Mackey. She is survived by her sister, Mable (Dean) Walker, her son Cecil (Pat) Mackey, a daughter, Diana Mominee; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Mackey; her grandchildren, Kathie (Tim) Freas, Corina (Mark)Sansone, Wendy (James) Booth, Shanda (Philip) Turner, Alex Mackey, Janna Mackey; Great grandchildren, Kris, Jeremy, Sheyden, Ryan, Ashley, Amber and Colby; a great great grandchild, Jayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 24th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington, Nevada (775) 463-2911
