Betty Jane Churich passed away on
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada. She was 84.

Betty was born in Buffalo, New York on November 15, 1925 the daughter of Amos and Thelma (Beals) Owens.

Betty worked in a big medical facility for many years in New York during the 1940's. Later she became a cosmetologist and received her license. Betty was a people person and she and her first husband opened a restaurant in New York where she loved meeting all the people. In 1950 she moved from New York to California and met 'the love of her life' a Navy man, Gordon Churich. Gordon was a wonderful man and they adored each other. The two were married and lived a beautiful life together. They loved to travel. They lived in the Bay area for many years where Betty worked at a restaurant called 'Castlewood Country Club' while Gordon had his own trucking company and later worked for Rhodes and Jameson hauling gravel for the new BART system at the time. Later they moved to Lake Tahoe where they built a trailer park and then moved to Yerington in 1982.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon who passed away in 2001 and a sister Lois Owens. She is survived by several great friends.
Betty was loved by many and always had that 'sweet' smile on her face.

No service was held, her cremains were buried with her husband at the Valley View Cemetery.
