Obituary

Beverly Landolt, 81, of Yerington, Nevada, lost her hard-fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

Beverly was born on September 16, 1933, in Modesto, California, to Edward and Myrtle Martin. She graduated from Livingston High School in 1951. Beverly married Joseph Landolt in 1952 and settled in Hilmar where they owned a family dairy business. In 1963, Beverly and Joseph bought a ranch and moved their family to Yerington, Nevada. Beverly was very civic minded and believed in giving back to the
community that had given so much to her family. She was the first woman appointed and later elected to the Walker River Irrigation District Board, where she served a term as chairwoman. In addition, Beverly was the first woman appointed to and later elected to the South Lyon Medical Center Board. Beverly served on this board for 25 years, holding various offices including chairwoman, a
position she held from 1986-2008. Beverly was one of the major forces behind saving the hospital. She worked tirelessly for the hospital terming out in 2008. The mayor of Yerington proclaimed December 17, 2008, as Beverly Landolt Day in honor of all she had accomplished while on the board. Even after being termed out, Beverly kept in touch with those at the hospital and always had fond memories of
her time on the board.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, sons Joseph Jr., and David Landolt, and granddaughter Shannon Landolt.Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph, her daughters
Karen Lommori (Nat), Mary Harvey (Bruce), Barbara Landolt (Norman Kamimoto), 9 grandchildren; Jeff Lommori, Jennifer Lommori(Richard Tucker), Stephanie Rice (Randy), Steven Landolt, Kristina Harvey, Steven Harvey, David Harvey, Matthew Kamimoto, Nicholas Kamimoto; 6 great-grandchildren Anthony, Grady, and Brody Lommori, Madison and Jillian Tucker, and Parker Rice. Beverly is also survived by her twin sister, Barbara
Presley, and brothers, Frank and Bill Martin.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary for Beverly will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 7:00 PM at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Highway 208, Yerington, Nevada. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 103 West Street, Yerington, Nevada. Burial will be in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery. Following the service, a Celebration of Life reception will be held at the Catholic Center.
