Obituary

Carmen Chiodo passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Banner Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon. He was 80.

Carmen was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on March 7, 1928 the son of Antonyo and Anna Chiodo.

The Chiodo brothers have served their country with honor and pride for American's freedom. Carmen's brother Master Sgt. John Chiodo served from 1942 - 1944, where he battled the Germans in Africa and in Italy all the way up to Rome where he was killed in action. Carmen, who was a Master Sgt, served in World War II in Germany and in Korea. His other brother, Sgt David Chiodo served in Germany. Carmewn was proud of his service to his country and is as proud of all veterans of have served especially his family members who have served and are currently serving.

Carmen married Irene Dorothy Michalson on June 26, 1954 in Farrell, Pennsylvania. They had been married for over 53 years when Irene passed away on August 11, 2007. Irene is buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Carmen is survived by his children,Susan I. McInnes, Lisa Danna and Carmen M. Chiodo; his grandchldren, Angela Reimer, Timothy Reimer, Gina Chiodo, Rocco Danna, Amber Danna, Mikki Danna and Jon-Paul McInnes; his four great grandchildren, Charles, Travis, April, Amber and Stacia.

A Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 24th at the Silver Springs Christan Center. Graveside service with military honors provided by the War Veterans Memorial Association will be 2:00 pm Friday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Carmen M. Chiodo, Timothy Reimer, Rocco Danna, Jon-Paul McInnes, Mark Burns, and Bud Mosley.
