Obituary
Catherine H. Algeo passed away at her home in Yerington, Nevada on Sunday, February 10, 2013 with her daughter , Nancy by her side. She was 88.
Catherine was born September 24, 1924 in Las Cruces, New Mexico the daughter of Robert and Eunice (Dowd) Hyland.
Catherine married Jack Algeo on September 9, 1944 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They had been married for 68 years when Jack passed away in Reno, Nevada on January 3, 2013.
Catherine enjoyed needlepoint, finding and refurnishing antique furniture, she also enjoyed gardening. Catherine was known for her graceous hospitality and was profiled in a California Home magazine. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Yerington. Catherine was a beloved wife, mother and friend.
She is survived by her son, John (Cris)Algeo of Tucson, AZ; her daughters, Nancy Harrison of Yerington, NV and Rie (Dennis) Gilsdorf of Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren, Brian (Chrissy) Harrison of Longmont, CO, Nat Gilsdorf of Minnesota, Frances (Steve) Fedoriska of Seattle, WA and Robert Algeo of Tucson, Az; two great grandchildren, Grace and Maisey Harrison; also by her brother, Robert and his wife Barbara Hyland of El Paso, Texas; also by her three nieces, Annette (Jim) Wheless, Cynthia (Bill) Lindsay and Emily Hyland Delgado and by her nephew, Robert Hyland. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack.
Memorial service for Catherine will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 103 North West Street, Yerington with Father Ariel Arias officiating. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am Friday prior to the Mass. A reception will follow the service at the Catholic Center.
