Charles Edward Stottlemeyer, Jr. passed away at his home in Yerington, Nevada, Wednesday morning, July 7, 2010. He was 86.
Charles was born in LeGore, Maryland on July 12, 1923 the son of Charles and Catherine (Hartsock)Stottlemeyer. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy for over 5 years and in the United States Coast Guard for over 15 years. He married Edna Jorgensen in San Francisco, California on January 31, 1964. Charles worked for many years as a Salesman for B-D Medical Labs.
He has lived in Yerington for over 33 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Lyon county Library and the Republican Central Committee. He enjoyed reading, gardening and volunteering. He was Chairman of the Lyon County Library Board and helped build the libraries in Dayton, Fernley anbd Silver Springs.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Edna; his sons, Charles Stottlemeyer III, Rodney Stottlemeyer and Marc Stottlemeyer; by his 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 12th 6 - 8 pm at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. His funeral will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, July 13th at the Copper Hills Bible Church 3 Falcon Way with Pastor Gregg Davies officiating. Interment graveside service will be held with military honors provided by War Veterans Memorial Association of Western Nevada 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 13th at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
