Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Charlotte Virginia McNabb. Charlotte was born in McKinney, Texas on July 10, 1938, but came to live in Long Beach, California when she was very young. Her beloved Father, Douglas James McNabb preceded her in death (but that doesn't matter because there was love). Charlotte grew up in Long Beach, CA and fell in love with Clifford Smith, Jr. and they got married. Charlotte and Clifford (who preceded her in death, but that doesn't matter because there is love), had three children, Craig Smith who preceded her in death (but that doesn't matter because there is love). Karen Smith Soskin and Katherine Smith Abrams. Charlotte fell in love with her long acquaintance from high school in Long Beach, Richard Reed. They got married and lived in Nevada, first, they lived in Indian Springs and then moved to Yerington.
Charlotte passed away April 29, 2010 at her home in Yerington after having struggled with illness and multiple strokes for many years. I forgot because there is so much love...I've been trying to forget.
There was a lot of stuff in between, but that doesn't matter because there was love. Charlotte Virginia McNabb Reed was, is, and always will be our beloved Mother, being a Mother defined her. She was the picture of kindness, sensitivity, generosity and love. We miss your life mom, but you are with us always because there is love.
