Walter Dale Gard passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. He was 46.
Dale wss born in Eugene, Oregon on January 7, 1966 the son of Glen and Donna Gard. Dale grew up and attended schools in Junction City, Oregon and moved to Yerington in 2008.
He was a member of the Mason Valley Gem Club and toured remote parts of Nevada with an informal Jeep club. He loved the outback, wildlife and growing peppers. He was always helping others. Dale also enjoyed going out to shoot weapons with his father. He had a special fondness for small handguns that inflicted more pain on the shooter than the object being shot.
Dale served in the United States Army for May 1985 to August 1988 serving last with the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment in Amberg, Germany.
Dale is survived by his parents, Glen and Donna; his twin brother, Lee, all of Yerington; his nephew, Jason Lee Gard of Redding, California; his Aunt, Ellen Bauman and Uncle Stan Bauman of Carson City and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins in Oregon. He is also survived by his beloved parakeets.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Dale 11:00 am Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington.
