Danie Lee Morose passed from this life on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington. He was 67.
He was born in Franklin Park (a suburb of Chicago) Illinois the son of Thomas and Joan (nee: Bottorff) Morose. He graduated from Leyden High School, class of 57. After graduation he served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later returned to his home town to work on the Indian Harbor railroad and then spent most of his life driving truck in and around Chicago and cross country. He came to Yerington in 1990 to visit his sister, he liked the area and came back later that year to make his home. He was a member, a volunteer and past officer of the Mason Valley Loyal Order of Moose. He also belonged to several chapters of E. Clampus Vitus and was Assistant Hawker for the Snowshoe Thompson Chapter and a member of the American Legion. Danny was a 'kibitzer', loved meeting new people and picking their brains. He was full of humor and always a good audience for other people's jokes and loved stories of railroads and was a collector of useless trivia. He loved playing cards, was an avid reader and was always working on a crossword puzzle.
He is survived by his sister, Roseann Allen of Yerington; his three sons, Daniel C. of Yerington, Andrew of Las Vegas and Michael of Truckee and granddaughters, Kristen, Haley and Courtney all of Yerington, Nephews James and Robert Campbell and Niece Lisa Campbell all formerly of Yerington. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his step-father, James Doherty.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life 1:00 pm Sunday, November 12th at the Mason Valley Moose Lodge 644 S. Main Street Yerington.
