David Wilson McGowan passed away at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington on Friday afternoon, February 19, 2016. He was 77.

David was born in Yerington on September 25, 1938 the son of David and Frances (Perry) McGowan. He attended schools in Yerington and also college at UNR. He married Barbara Hill on November 12, 1965 in Gridley, California.

He owned his own sign painting business. David was also an artist doing portraits and landscapes. He was also musical being able to play the piano, organ and accordion.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; his son, David; his daughters, Elizabeth Pliscou, Jennifer Carpenter and Lynetta Dearden; his brother, Curtis and sister, DeAnn Fabri; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service for David will be held 11:00am Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 600 N. Oregon Street Yerington. Burial will be at the Elm Tree Cemetery (Missouri Flats)in the family plot.
