Obituary

Linda Dianne Van Norman passed peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, August 30, 2009. She was 64.

Dianne was born July 24, 1945 in Bakersfield, California the daughter of Louis and Frances (Brown) Townsend, she was the oldest of three sisters. She graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1963. In July 1965 she married Charles Van Norman and moved to Lancaster, California where they resided for 33 years. Dianne spent many years as a homemaker, lovingly raising her family and also dedicated 23 years working as the Executive Director of the Society of Flight Test Engineers in Lancaster. She was actively involved and served as President of the Children's Hospital Auxillary, PTA and was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Lancaster. In 1998 she and her husband retired to Smith Valley, Nevada where she resided until her death Sunday. Dianne has devoted much of her time and energy to the care of her family members, including her father-in-law, Philip and grandchildren, Brandon and Amanda.

Dianne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Peggy Van Norman of Valencia, CA and their three children, Matthew, Emi and Noah; her son, Timothy Van Norman of Fallon, NV and his children, Brandon, Amanda; her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Eric Boysen of Torrance, CA and their sons, Ryan and Caden; her Father-in-law, Philip Van Norman; her two sisters, Peggy (Mike) Ward and Janice (Richard) Carlson; a sister-in-law, Betty (Carl) Rheingans; four nieces and spouses, four nephews and spouses and numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her Mother-in-law, Nora Van Norman.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 5th at the Smith Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Travis Walker officiating. Private family burial will be held at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
