Obituary
Doran L. Barcus passed away at his home in Yerington on Wednesday afternoon, July 1, 2009 with his family by his side. He was 85.
Doran was born in Watsonville, California on September 8, 1923 the son of Leonard and Ella May (Hitt) Barcus. He was a World War II Army veteran. He married Shirley Jane Chitwood in Corralitas, California on May 1, 1983. They had lived in Yerington for the past 21 years coming from Watsonville, California. Doran enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Dennis Barcas, Chuck Chitwood, and Stephen Barcus; his daughters, Rozanne Barcus, Patricia Chitwood, Nancy Waldais; his brother, Wayne and sisters, Georgie Chapman and Flora Reiswig; and by numerous grandchildren, also by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Daniel and David.
A Memorial service will be held 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 11th at the Community United Methodist Church 221 North Main Street Yerington.
