Dorathea Katherine Renner went home to the loving embrace of the Lord on October 7, 2013. She was 92.

Dorathea was born on June 7, 1921 in Tilton, Nebraska the daughter of Conrad and Sophie Reisbig.

Dorathea shared her life and time with many different organizations including Homemakers, Lutheran Ladies Aide, Methodist Women's Group, Smith Valley Luncheoneers (which Dorathea organized at the age of 80) and was a devoted 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi as well as a 60 year Sunday School teacher. However, she felt that her greatest gift and accomplishment was the love of her children and grandchildren. Dorathea was a lifelong advocate for the Lord and all who knew her were blessed beyond measure.

She is survived by her sister Patty, her children Tom (Tosca) Renner, Don (LaShele) Renner, Nancy (Sam) Kennette, Katherine Lewis-Ellis, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Renner, her parents and two siblings.

Dorathea's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Smith Valley Community United Methodist Church in Smith. A luncheon in Dorathea's honor will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at the church. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
