Dorothy L. Matheson passed away at her son's home in Tollhouse, California on Wednesday evening, July 20, 2011. Dorothy was 85.

Dorothy was born in Cedar City, Utah on September 7, 1925 the daughter of Leland and Golda (Corry) Leigh. She married McDell Matheson on May 19, 1944 in Cedar City, Utah.

Dorothy moved to Yerington from Utah in 1954. She had worked at the Golden Rule in Yerington for over 30 years.

She is survived by her son, Jefferey Matheson of Tollhouse, California; her 2 grandchildren, Golda Barton and Hollye Matheson; 2 great grandchildren, Wesley and Linden; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Jacqueline Matheson Barton and two brothers.

Dorothy's funeral service will be held 10:00 am Friday, July 29th, 2011 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery next to her husband.
