Edgar L. "Larry" Pierce passed away on Sunday morning, January 6, 2008 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada. He was 78.
Larry was born April 9, 1929 in Watertown, MA the son of Charles and Edith Pierce. He joined the US Navy in 1946 and married Margaret K. Nelson in Woburn, MA on June 12, 1948. They spent most of their lives in Woburn where they raised two children. Larry had many occupations over the years but truly loved law enforcement, and he spent many years as Chief of special Police for Dana Hall, a prestigious girls boarding school. He was also a Mason. He had lived the past two months here in Nevada being closer to his daughter.
He is survived by his Wife of nearly 60 years, Margaret currently of Wellington and formerly of Woburn, MA; his son Lawrence Nelson Pierce of Woburn, MA; his daughter, Jeanne Elaine Pierce of Wellington, NV; his granddaughter, Noelle Margaret Ittner of Wellington, NV and a grandson, Peter John Pierce Ittner of San Francisco, CA; his brother and sisters, Jeanne Tedesco of Burlington, MA, Marilyn Piazza of Woburn, MA, Florence Foster of Billerica, MA, Martha Grigg of Merrimac, NH, Sandra Proia of Woburn, MA, David Pierce of Alton Bay, NH and Robert Pierce of Florida.
A Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 13th, 2008 at the Smith Valley United Community Methodist Church, 44 Rivers Road Smith, Nevada. Pastor Tom Walburn will be officiating.
