Obituary

Edmund A. Miller, affectionally known as 'Miller the Driller' passed away early Monday morning, October 25, 2010 at ContinueCare Hospital of Carson Tahoe in Carson City, Nevada with his loving wife at his side. Ed was 82.

Edmund was born in Smith, Nevada on April 30, 1928 the son of Alexander and Laura (Dickinson) Miller. He was raised in Smith Valley. Ed was also a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.
Ed married Linda in Gardnerville, Nevada on June 21, 1996.

'Miller the Driller' was the best water witcher we've ever known. Ed could find water when no one else could. For the past ten years, Ed and Linda owned the historic Wabuska Bar & Inn. Ed was also a San Francisco 49'er football fan. He also loved his two german shorthairs, Samatha and Sierra Love. One of Ed's favorite sayings was, 'Well Digging is the only job you start at the top'.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children, Mitch, Mike and Eddie Ann Miller; his sisters, Margaret Parsons, Marjorie Russell and Lauralee Bennett; his grandchildren, Shelby Miller and Miller Pichon; and his best friends, Stacey, Debbie and Phil. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held 3:00 to 5:00 pm with a eulogy/remembrance service at 4:00 pm Saturday, October 30th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, October 31st at the Wabuska Bar & Inn 265 Hwy 95A North Yerington from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 pm
