Elaine Gardner passed away early Sunday morning, September 14, 2008 at the Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City. She was 67.

She was born in Hayward, California on August 21, 1941 the daughter of Alfred and Marie Freitas. She had lived in Yerington for many years. Elaine enjoyed the outdoors and loved to travel. She also loved to plant flowers and grow vegetables in her garden. She was the life of the party at all family functions.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gardner of Yerington; her sister, Jane Lopes of Fremont, CA and brother, Paul Freitas of California; her children, Theresa Yokela of Castro Valley, CA, Kathleen Redman of Yorktown, VA, Donna Johnson of Manteca, CA, Debbie Fallon of Temecula, CA, Dawn Gardner of Elko, NV and Sharron Wickham of Fremont, CA; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred and her Mother.

Private family services have been held.
