Eleanor Fabri Parke passed away Wednesday morning, April 25, 2007 at Long Term Care of South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington. She was 85.

Eleanor was born in Yerington, Nevada December 12, 1923 to her proud parents Louis and Gemma (Masini) Fabri. She was educated in the local school system and had graduated from business college. She was a member of the Catholic Church and had attended the Holy Family Catholic Church in her youth. She worked a number of years for the Nevada Legistature in Carson City in the early 1940's. Eleanor met her future husband, Merle Parke, an M.P. serving in Hawthorne after World War II at a social function in Yerington. They fell in love and were married in 1946. The couple moved to Long Beach, California for several years where Merle purchased and resold boats. The business expanded and the couple in partnership with Eleanor's brother's; Pete, Carol and Harry invested in the Sun Harbor Marina in San Diego, California. The couple operated the marina and boat sales until Eleanor and her husband purchased the Charter Yacht Brokerage, the oldest brokerage on Shelter Island. Eleanor served as the accountant, opeerations manager and CEO of the business they owned. After several years of retirement in San Diego the couple returned to Northern Nevada in 1999, eventually to live out their lives at the Mason Valley Residence in Yerington.

She is survived by her brother, Harry Fabri of Los Altos, California; four nieces and three nephews and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Merle who passed away December 2, 2001.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington with burial at the Valley View Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
