Obituary
Ellison McMasters, Jr. passed away at the Renown Skilled Nursing Center in Reno on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. He was 77.
Ellison was born in Fallon of February 25, 1932 the son of Ellison and Nellie. He was a lifetime resident of Schurz where he farmed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with many trips to Canada and Montana.
Ellison and his wife, Hazel dedicated their lives to helping people through native healing and ceremony.
He is survived by his sisters, Bertha 'Erdie' Cummings and Bernita 'Boss' McMasters; and by numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hazel, a brother, Leeland and sisters, Delores, Geraldine and Laura.
A viewing will be held at his home, 2734 Red Earth Way, Schurz on Monday, April 6th begining at 6:00 pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 7th at 11:00 am at the Schurz Tribal Gym with burial at the Schurz Cemetery.
