Elsie Joan Gerberding passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2010 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care facility in Yerington, Nevada. She was 81.

Elsie was born in Chinook Cove, BC, Canada on September 19, 1928 the daughter of Hans and Charlotte (Schmidt) Schwenk. She married Bill Gerberding on January 22, 1956 in San Andreas, California. She enjoyed collecting rocks, fishing and spending time with her friends. However, her greatest love in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Elsie lived the past six years here in Yerington, Nevada to be close to her daughter. She did live over 50 years in Valley Springs, California.

She is survived by her Daughter, Liz Bryan of Yerington, Nevada and her Son, George C. Patterson of Nampa, Idaho; her brother, Hans Fleissner of Rockton, Illinois and her sister, Edith Kloss of Dusseldorf, Germany; by her two grandchildren, Rindy Crawford of Ione, California and Bill Gerberding of Springville, California; her three great grandchildren, Justin Moore of Angels Camp, California, Shelby Silveira of Ione, California and Dylan of Ione, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Lisa Wilbur and Margaret Vettle and her husband Bill.

A Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 27th at the Methodist Church on Pine Street in Valley Springs, California
