Obituary
Enrico "Rico" Sacchini passed away early Monday morning, January 12, 2009 at the Long Term Care of South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada. He was 81.
Rico was born in Yerington, Nevada on June 25, 1927 the son of Angelo and Jeanette (Menesini) Sacchini. He grew up in Yerington attending schools here and graduating from Yerington High School. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He married Dace Ricketts in Carson City, Nevada on June 19, 1949. Being a life long resident he was very active in the community. He was a member of the Yerington Lions Club, a Volunteer for the Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Department and was past president of the Nevada Fire Chief's Association; he was past President of the Lyon County Museum and was a member of the Regional Transportation Commission and a member of the Cemetery Board. He also served as a Yerington City Councilman and a Lyon County Commissioner.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Dace of Yerington; his daughters, Cheryl and her husband Garey Compston of Yerington and Vickie and her husband Chuck Roberts of Mound House; his brother Leroy and his wife Norma Sacchini of Bakersfield, CA; his grandchildren, Stephani andher husband Toby Enochson of Yerington and Stephen Compston of Reno and Matthew Roberts of Mound House; his great grandchild, A J Enochson of Yerington. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Angelo Sacchini, Jr..
A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 am Saturday, January 17th at the Holy Family Catholic Church 37 North West Street Yerington with a reception to follow at the Catholic Center.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Bickel, Frank Bullentini, Stephen Compston, Joe Menesini, Ron Menesini, Don McCurdie, Arnie Page, Harvey Pinkerton, Rex Ricketts, Jr. and Matthew Roberts.
