Ernie, a third generation Nevadan was born on December 31, 1935 in Yerington to Martin and Marie Glock. He was the 3rd of 5 boys (Darwin, Tommy, Ernest, Larry, and Ronnie).

Ernie grew up in Smith Valley, playing all sports, especially football, where he graduated from high school in 1954. After high school he lived at and worked for the Lester Farias ranch for a number of years. He and Audrey met at a New Years dance in Yerington in 1954. They were married on New Years Eve 1956 in Gardnerville. After they were married, he worked at Newell's Garage before going to work at the Anaconda Copper mine in Yerington. He worked there as a carpenter, often with side jobs in the evening as well, until the mine closed in 1978. During that time, they raised their two sons, Jack (who passed away in 2015 from pancreatic cancer) and Paul in a house that he had built and continued to live in. After the Anaconda mine closed, he worked for the Quintana mine in Darwin, California for 5 years. Then he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Lyon County until he retired in 2004. After retiring, Ernie continued to help anybody that needed help with anything. He was hard-working, innovative, and creative. There wasn't anything he couldn't do or fix.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey, son Paul (Barry O'Sullivan), brother, Larry (Joanna);  granddaughters Rae, Remy, and Rachel, grandsons Dylan and Dusty, and 4 great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 15 at 11:00 at Mountain View Park, located at Mountain View and Park Street in Yerington.
