Ernest Cecil Pitts passed away early Sunday morning, December 16, 2018 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. He was 77.
Ernest was born in Vallejo, California on October 4, 1941 the son of Robert and Anita Pitts. Ernest was an Eagle Scout and had earned the Silver Award in Scouting. Scouting was a major influence in his life. He was also veteran having served in the Army National Guard. Ernest married Judith C. Akens in San Jose, California on January 30, 1965.
He had lived in Yerington for the past five years coming from Scotts Valley, California. He enjoyed fishing and airplanes. He was very passionate about his profession as a machinist and was self employed all of his adult life being a machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Scott, Michael and Chris and a Daughter-in-Law, Dawn; his sister, Marsha, his brother, Bob and his 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Trelena) Brandy, Shannoah, Christopher, Bodie, Abby and Robert; his great grandchjild, Sierra. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charlie.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, December 27th at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way Fernley. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.FRFH.net , also sympathy cards may be mailed directly to the family from this site. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life at the Yerington Vineyard Fellowship Church, 307 Broadway Avenue Yerington following the service in Fernley.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his name to the Yerington Vineyard Church in Yerington.
