Frances Helen Hedlund passed away early Thursday morning, February 21, 2008 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada. She was 91.

Frances was born in Chester, New Jersey on June 9, 1916 the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Appleby) Keough. She was the ninth of ten children and grew up in New Jersey. She graduated from Ramsey High School and from the Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in Teaneck, New Jersey. She worked as an industrial nurse for Dupont, General Electric, the Los Angeles School district and General Motors. She was a licensed RN in four states and had also worked at several hospitals in New Jersey, Minnesota, Washington and California. She loved her work and also loved her family, her animals and the Sunset Hills in Mason Valley. She had lived in Yerington since 1974 coming from Fullerton, California. She had been a member of the Methodist Church, a 54 year member of Eastern Star and a member of the Holy Name Hospital Alumni Association.

She is survived by her Sister, Olive Keough Schofield of Murrieta, California; her nephews, John Schofield of Canyon Lake, California, John David Keough of St. Augustine, Florida, Richard Lofberg of Teaneck, New Jersey and Edward Keough of Essex, Vermont, Virginia; her niece, Elizabeth Keough Clark of Charlotte, Vermont; and grand nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes no memorial service will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington, Nevada 89447 (775) 463-2911.
