Obituary
Frank Robert Dane passed away at his home in Yerington surrounded by his loving wife and family on Saturday evening, April 17, 2010. He was 57.
Frank was born in Vallejo, California on January 19, 1953 the son of Bud and Dee Dane. The family moved from Vallejo to Yerington in 1958 where he attended Yerington Schools and graduated in 1971. After his graduation he began his apprenticeship as an electrician at Anaconda Copper Mine. He also served four years in the National Guard. Frank fell in love with Sue and her children, Tim and Alve. They were married and became a family on September 1, 1974 in Virginia City, Nevada. On November 29, 1975 daughter Frankie joined the family. In 1978 Frank relocated his family to Goldendale, Washington where he was employed by Martin Marietta Aluminum Smelter as a journeyman Electrician until 1986. Frank enjoyed his time in Goldendale where he met many life long friends. The family returned to Yerington when Frank become employed at the FMC Gold in Gabbs, Nevada. In 1993 Frank decided to try his hand at being self-employed as an Electrical Contractor and started Yerington Electric which became a very sucessful adventure. In 2006 he turned the business over to his son, Tim.
Frank was a true outdoorsman and sportsman excelling in the many activities he participated in including baseball, softball, football, basketball, bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his annual trips to Mexico.
Frank is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue; his children, Tim (Liz) Dane of Yerington, Alve (David) Ross of Goldendale, Washington, and Frankie (Gerard) Cordova of Yerington; his six grandchildren which was the pride and joy of his life, Chloe, Rachel, Sidney, Sawyer, Morgan and Megan; his brother, Al (Judy) Dane; and sisters, Donna Dane, Judy (Jim) Mikudik and Vicky (Dan) Newell all of Yerington; and numerous nieces and nephews. he was preceded in death by his parents.
Frank's Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 23rd at the Casino West Convention Center.
