Gertrude 'Trudy' Dini passed away peacefully at her home in Yerington, Nevada on Tuesday morning, January 19, 2010 with her daughter by her side. She was 89.

Gertrude was born in Smith Valley, Nevada on June 26, 1920 the daughter of William and Mary Depoali. She attended schools in Smith Valley and lived in Nevada her entire life. She married Mario Dini the love of her life October 28, 1939 in Gardnerville, Nevada and they had been married for over 62 wonderful years. Together they raised alfalfa most of their life. Each year, after the alfalfa was put up they would travel to places around the United States and the World. She would come back with extraordinary stories about her adventures. She was a member of the South Lyon Medical Center Auxillary and Beta Sigma Phi

Trudy's passion was her family and her travels. She loved her children and grandchildren, the Grandchildren were blessed to be given the true experience of what an ideal grandmother should be. Trudy was also very close with her sister, Claudette.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Allen) Ashby; her sister, Claudette (Bob) Heitman; her 6 grandchildren, Jill (Darrell) Rasner, Jenni (Alan) Vogel, Julie Santovito, James (Kelly) Munson, Michael (Mary) Dini, Kevin (Jack) Dini; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mario and a son, Ron Dini.
