Gertrude "Molly" Slining passed away on Thursday evening, February 19, 2009 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care facility in Yerington, Nevada. She was 92.

Molly was born on November 17, 1916 in Spiro, Oklahoma the 11 of 12 siblings of William and Emma West. In 1938 she married Raymond C. Slining and they moved to southern California. In the early 1940's they relocated to Victorville/Summit Valley area where they raised their three children, Ray, Hank and Ginny. Her husband passed away in 1980 and in 1986 Molly moved to Cedar City, Utah where she found peace and happiness tending to her flower garden and enjoying nature and taking in stray dogs and cats that came her way. Molly alsways had a love for nature and the outdoors and wildlife. In 2003 she moved to Yerington to be closer to her family.

Molly is survived by her three children, Raymond Paul Slining of Grass Valley, California, Henry George Slining of Lewistown, Montana and Ginny Virdin of Yerington, Nevada; her 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her 11 brothers and sisters.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Desert Valley Memorial Park 11500 Amargosa Road Victorville, California.
