Ginger Lynn Sam-Elliott passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Reno. She was 50.

Ginger was born in Carson City, Nevada the daughter of Roy and Shannon Sam. She was an enrolled member of the Yerington Paiute Tribe, but lived in Reno most of her life.

Ginger is survived by her Mother, Shannon 'Jeannie' Kathay of Reno, her Father, Roy Sam of Newberg, Oregon; her two sons, Jared 'Drew' Sam and Wambli 'Bird' Thayer both of Reno; Sisters, Connie Sam-Hawke of Newberg, Oregon and Penny Hoffman of Sun City, California; a brother, Randall 'Randy' Sam of Big Fork, Montana; and her husband, Steve Elliott of Reno; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Ginger was preceded in death by her grandson, Haydon Sam.

A celebration of Life will will be held 11:00 am Sunday, November 7th at the Yerington Paiute Tribal Gym on Campbell Lane in Yerington.
