Hazel P. Dunn passed away on Sunday evening, January 27, 2008 at the Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks. She was 79.

Hazel was born in Reno, Nevada on August 28, 1928 the daughter of Thomas A. and Edvina (Jeppson) Pittman. She was raised in the Mason Valley and graduated from Yerington High School. She attended Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated with a teaching degree. After teaching several years at Churchill County High School in Fallon she returned to Yerington and taught at Yerington High School for 30 years.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Duane and Donald of Reno, Daniel of Winnemucca and her daughter, Diane and husband Robert Darger of Sparks; her sister, Winifred Hall of North Odgen, Utah; her five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Dunn and a great grandson, Dylan.

A viewing will be held at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home
6 - 8:00 pm on Friday evening, February 1st. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 at the Coummunity United Methodist Church 221 N. Main Street Yerington with Rev. Jacqueline Meadows officiating. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery.
