Obituary
Helen R. Hawkins passed away on Monday evening, December 31, 2007 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada. She was 97.
Helen was born in Oklahoma on July 29, 1910 the daughter of Frank and Frances (Morrison) Thompson. She was educated in southern California. She spent many years as a teacher in southern California and after her retirement from education and the death of her husband she moved to Yerington to be near her son. She has lived the past 35 years here in Yerington. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and had been a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Shelbylynn Hawkins of Yerington, and by her many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John; her son and her two sisters.
In keeping with her wishes no memorial servie will be held. Friends may make a memorial donation in her name to the Mason Valley Residence 705 South Street Yerington, NV 89447.
