Obituary
Helen Reymus passed away Friday morning, March 12, 2010 at the Renown Medical Center in Reno. She was 90.
Helen was born August 22, 1919 on the Walker River Indian Reservation the daughter of Howard and Julia (Miller)Sides. She was a lifetime resident of Schurz and a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe. Helen married Ernest Reymus in Schurz on June 1934. Helen was a caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She enjoyed doing her beadwork and going to powwows. She was a fluent speaker of her Native Paiute language.
She is survived by her Son, Edmund D. Reymus of Schurz; daughters, Eleanor R. Allen and Angelina R. Menz of Schurz, Florene Reymus Tobey of Sutcliffe and Vivian Reymus of Carson City; her sister, Irene Miller Cline of Schurz. Also by numerous grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren that reside in other states. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; daughters, Vera Kochamp; her parents, her brother, Tony Sides and grandson, Clinton Reymus.
A visitation will be held 6-8:00 pm at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington on Friday, March 19th. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 20th at the Schurz Tribal Gym. Cremation will follow the service and her cremated remains will be buried at the Schurz Community Cemetery.
