IRWIN LANDIS MILLER, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at the Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada at the age of 81 years.

Irwin was born to William Bill Miller and Nellie Brown Sides Miller on February 13, 1935 in the old Bureau of Indian Affairs Hospital in Schurz, Nevada. Irwin was a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe, served on the Walker River Paiute Tribal Council and served on the US Board of Water Commissioners.

Irwin is survived by his wife, Karen. Half brother, Harold "Pah Tsenu Gwa" Miller. Irwin's children Ahlene Jangula, Kelly Miller Estep, Raynell Miller and NiDua Mark Landis Miller. Grandchildren Hattie Maiou Emm, Bindee Wahgnee Crutcher, Heidi Celestine Emm, Jesse Hank Landis Ponca and EeDua Bodie Miller, Erica Jangula, Elizabeth Jangula, Melissa Jangula and Stephanie Jangula. Great-Grandchildren Amaree Maiou Savage, Zayne Lewis Savage, Hayes Lewis Savage, Justus Jangula, Eric Teaman, Sam Zylstra and Suzie Zylstra. Irwin was preceded in death by his mother and father, his half sister Agnes Sammaripa, half-brothers, Richard Quartz and Roy Quartz.

The Vigil will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6PM to 9PM at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Highway 208, Yerington, NV 89447 and the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Schurz Tribal Gymnasium on the Walker River Paiute Reservation in Schurz, NV at 11am. Burial to follow at the Schurz Cemetery.
