Obituary
Jack Bernard Simerl, Jr. passed away at his home in Yerington, Nevada on Sunday morning, March 3, 2013. He was 61.
Jack was born in Oakland, California on November 14, 1951 the son of Jack B. and Clara (Melle) Simerl.
After high school graduation Jack joined the US Army and served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Aircraft Crewman's Badge and the Air Medal.
After his service he returned to California and worked varies jobs until he became an Iron Worker.
He is survived by his daughter, Katrina and her husband Douglas; his son, Ronnie; his sister, Mona and Brother, Reo. He is also survived by his best friend, Vinnie Berlingher.
Funeral service for Jack will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. A viewing will be held at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home on Thursday (03/14) 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
