James Thomas Dunlap passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington.  He was 68.

Jim was born November 24, 1949 in Sacramento, California the son of Lyman and Virginia (Marsh) Dunlap.  He had graduated from Ponderosa High School in 1967.  He married Vicki chase January 1, 1971 in Carson City Nevada.  They have lived in Yerington for the past 49 years.  He loved the Mason Valley and he spent 25 years chasing core drills all over the west including Alaska but always came home to the Mason Valley.

Jim did ornamental Metal work with horseshoes and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren to operate equipment and all things he knew including welding, home repairs and drilling.  He was always available to help his family and strangers that were in a bind, all you had to do was ask for help.  He also enjoyed studying the constitution and educating people about the US Constitution.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki; his son, Jim and daughters, Mary Dunlap, Nancy Deatherage, Linda Lacey and Sandra Pierini; his sisters, Virginia Jo Dunlap and Sharon Denton; his 12 grandchildren and 10 (that he is aware of) great grandchildren.
