Echard
September 4, 1936 – July 30, 2020
James E. Echard, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed away at 83 after
an ATV accident on July 30, 2020.
Jimmy was born in Salida, Colorado to Henry and Mildred Echard. He moved
to Tacoma, Washington when he was five years old. There he went on to graduate from Franklin Perce High
School and then in-listed in the U.S. Air Force. Jimmy's mother had married Elmer Mehr and Jimmy used
the name Mehr all the way through school and in the Air Force. After his tour of duty, he settled in Reno, Nevada in 1962. Jimmy went on to work and retire from Carpenter Local 971 in Reno after 35 years, he then became a General Contractor and an amazing finish carpenter making beautiful furniture as a hobby.
After retiring Jimmy and his wife moved to Wellington, Nevada in 1995. He enjoyed being on the Bad
Bowlers league, a private group of friends, camping, fishing, and taking meticulous care of his yard. Jimmy
loved his family and friends, always trying to make someone laugh. The ongoing family competition
between his beloved Seahawks and 49r's. If someone needed something he was there.
Jimmy leaves behind the love of his life, his best friend, his wife of 30 years Deborah. His Son Richard
(Chris) Echard, his daughters Nadine Denherder and Denise Moschetti. Seven Grandchildren Nichole,
Justin, Matt, Austin, Anthony, Hannah, and Alex and one Great Granddaughter Mia.
Private interment is planned for a later time at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.FRFH.net
