James "Jim" Clive Lambert, 84, a resident of Yerington, Nevada for over 30 years, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2020 in Carson City with family at his side.
Jim was the oldest of 4 children born January 25, 1936 at his family home in Sparks NV, to James Floyd and Cleo Christianson Lambert and was raised in the Mormon faith and proud to be a Nevadan all his life.
He attended Robert Mitchell Elementary School, Sparks Jr. High, graduating from Sparks High School (SHS) in 1954. At SHS he served on student council, was an All-state football and basketball player and was a member of "Block S". He received a football scholarship to attend to Utah State. While in high school, he met Patricia Mattice at a Labor Day Celebration at Deer Park in Sparks and they were married August 11, 1954 with the first of their 5 children, a set of twins, being born September 6, 1955. James has worked for Isabel Construction and Nevada Division of Forestry, retiring from the latter. Over the years he and Pat had enjoyed, family reunions, camping, hunting and fishing and exploring the state of Nevada. Jim was particularly fond of playing in the front yard with his children – a memory shared by all of them. Following his retirement in 1998, he and Pat became avid rock collectors and spent many enjoyable and relaxing hours doing so.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Patricia "Pat" of 63 years were blessed with Joyce Macway (Kenneth) of Redwood City, CA, Janice Boyer of Elko, Bret (deceased), JoDi Thomas (John) of Sparks and Shelia Demars of Yerington. Jim was further blessed with 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to his daughters, grand and great grandchildren he is survived by his Sister Diana Ponciano of Preston, Idaho along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 600 N. Oregon ST. in Yerington Nevada at 11:00 on Saturday the 14 th of March followed by a reception. Interment burial will be held 2:00 pm at the Valley View Cemetery.
