James Randyl Long passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada with the his love Roseann by his side. He was 58. Randy was born in California on August 6, 1955. He graduated from Clayton Valley High School in Concord, California. Randy was set to go into the Marines at the age of 18 when a friend's father offered to make him an apprentice as a butcher. He became a highly trained butcher and remained so all of his life. Randy was also a talented singer and he also enjoyed all music and sports and was a serious Oakland Raider fan. He had a marvelous sense of humor. Randy worked as a butcher for many locations in California and Nevada including Smiths. He was a resident of Yerington for many years and had also lived in Georgia to be with his children. He had returned to Yerington just prior to his death. He is survived by his Father, Dempsey of Auburn, California; his son, Matthew and daughter Tracie Hobbs both of Georgia; his sister, Judy LaFleur of Reno; by the love of is life, Rosanne Allen of Yerington; also by his grandchildren and numerous nieces an nephews.
