Obituary

James 'Jim' H. Pace passed away at his home in Wellington, Nevada on Friday evening, June 22, 2012. He was 89.

Jim was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 5, 1923 the son of James and Thelmarie (Mayberry) Pace.

Jim was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army during World War II. During the war he served in Normandy, Northern France, Germany and Central Europe. He received the good conduct medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Victory Medal.

He married Hattie Jane Bryant in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 3, 1964.

Jim has lived in Wellington for the past 21 years. Before coming to Wellington he lived in Puerto Rico where he served as the CEO for the Puerto Rico Branch of TransAmerica. Jim enjoyed hiking, photography and fruit tree grafting.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie; his son Ron Pace, his daughter, Judy Twomey, step -daughter, Brenda Parker; his grandchildren, Jessica Twomey and Brian Twomey, Andrea Pace; and his step-grandchildren, Jimmy Palmer, Danny Palmer, Tyrone Castaldi and Tonya Newcomb; his brother, Gentry Pace. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. Burial with military honors will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
