During his distinguished career Jim had the opportunity to serve as right-hand man for the Frank List Ranch in Washoe Valley, the Lucky Livestock Ranch in Sierra Valley and the John Asguaga Ranch in Smith Valley. Jim described his first trip into Smith Valley as "feeling like I had arrived home", and his friends and neighbors will miss his joyful sharing of good food from his 'small' garden.
